ABOUT INTEGO
Grounded evidence. Strategic action. Regenerative places.
We bridge the gap between complex data and the practical strategies needed to protect and evolve the places we love.
Who we are
Intego is an independent research, strategy, and learning consultancy.
We work at the nexus of place-based approaches and regenerative development, helping regional leaders navigate social and environmental challenges, and translate insights into action. We help you:
- Reveal what matters: Conduct rigorous, place-based research that reveals what communities truly value
- Design for impact: Create evidence-led strategies and policies that contribute to place-based change and social good
- Embed capability: Build the internal leadership required to understand and drive regenerative change.
- Mobilise support: Create the communication, engagement, and creative materials to bring strategies to life
With 30+ years of combined experience across environmental social science, systems thinking, and regenerative development, we bridge the gap between evidence, strategy, and action.
Who we work with
We partner with leaders responsible for the long-term vitality of their places, including:
- Councils and local government: Leadership teams across planning, community development, and environment seeking to build deep social license.
- Regional development bodies: Organisations driving the cross-sector collaboration and infrastructure needed for resilient local economies.
- Destination and tourism organisations: Managers balancing the visitor economy with the protection of natural assets and community values.
- Place-based institutions: NGO and community collaboratives tasked with regional stewardship, environmental protection, and social wellbeing.
If you are making the decisions that shape the future of a place, we provide the evidence you need to move forward with confidence.

Dr Mark-Stanton Bailey
SENIOR RESEARCHER
Mark brings environmental justice, community voice, and cultural sensitivity to every research project, ensuring strategies are grounded in both rigorous evidence and genuine community values.
As a political ecologist and human geographer specialising in participatory research methods, he honours community knowledge rather than simply extracting information. His extensive work with Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander communities across urban, rural, and remote contexts brings deep cultural competency and genuine community-led approaches to Intego’s research—critical for building the social licence and trust that place leaders need to drive change.
Mark holds a PhD in the human geographies of environmental justice and a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Sustainability, Honours). His expertise in qualitative research, face-to-face engagement, and integrating cultural narratives with environmental science ensures Intego’s work doesn’t just tick consultation boxes — it positions communities as active agents of change and builds the authentic relationships that underpin lasting transformation.
Patricia Fondeur
DATA ANALYST
Patricia turns overwhelming data into clear, actionable insights, helping place leaders make evidence-based decisions with confidence. With expertise in Python programming, data processing, and visualisation, she bridges the gap between raw data and strategic clarity, ensuring Intego’s research is rigorous, accessible, and ready for decision-making. Her combination of technical coding skills and design sensibility means data visualisations that teams can actually understand and act on.
Patricia’s environmental journey began in 2010 with climate action organising in the Dominican Republic, collaborating with organisations like Oxfam International. She spent six years as operations manager for a California start-up, building skills in business management, compliance, and systems optimisation.
A graduate of Google’s Data Analytics program and Harvard’s Introduction to Programming with Python and R, with an Associate’s Degree in Advertising, Patricia ensures Intego delivers work that’s evidence-informed, visually compelling, and decision-ready.
